Here are some of my favourite tips:

Get More Coins

Cut down trees, remove any animals in your way, and you can earn coins to by doing tasks on your neighbours homesteads.
BONUS COINS

If you’re doing a task, collect the items quickly!  If you’re fast enough, a bonus bar will appear. So be quick with your treasure!
Get More Energy

This can be tricky!  To create your homestead, you need to clear lots of things that might be blocking you, such as trees.  Ways to get more energy include harvesting crops for food, allowing enough time for your energy bar to refill, and by progressing through levels in the game.
Finding Energy

This is possible when you harvest crops.  It looks like a lightening bolt, and when you click on it your energy goes up.
Visit Neighbors

If you have friends who also play, this is an important tip!  Just visiting their homesteads will give you energy.
